JCBS offers specialist literacy support to assist students and adults with reading, writing, language, numeracy and digital communication. Jessica believes that learning is lifelong and learning styles are as individual as we are. She offers 1:1 tutoring services customised to address learners needs, skills, abilities and strengths.

 

English Tutoring

English Tutoring | Kindergarten to Year 10

The NSW English syllabus states:

Through the study of English, students learn about the power, value and art of the English language for communication, learning and enjoyment. Developing proficiency in English enables students to become confident communicators, critical and imaginative thinkers, and lifelong learners.

Students develop their language skills through activities involving speaking and listening, reading and writing, and viewing and representing. They learn about language and literature through working with a wide range of print, spoken, visual, media, multimedia and digital texts.

English tutoring for Kindergarten to Year 10 is aligned with the NSW syllabus and focuses on developing strong literacy foundations and ongoing skills.

Sessions are delivered one-on-one and customised to meet the individual needs of each student, with targeted support in:

  • Reading

  • Handwriting

  • Grammar

  • Comprehension

  • Spelling

1:1 Tutoring Blocks (K–12)

  • 30 minutes — $50

  • 45 minutes — $65

  • 60 minutes — $80

General Tutoring / Study Mentor

Literacy, homework support and study skills , essay writing - Sessions are tailored to support confidence, skill development, and academic progress across subjects.

Senior School

Senior School Tutoring | Year 11 & 12 | Vocational Education & Training (VET) tutoring

Specialist tutoring support is available for senior school students, including HSC and Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathways.

As an experienced VET in Schools trainer and assessor, Jessica provides targeted support for learners undertaking Business and Retail Services as part of their senior schooling.

Support is available through one-off sessions or tutoring packages, delivered:

  • In person (local area), or

  • Online via Zoom

Subjects and areas supported include:

  • Business Studies

  • Business Services (VET)

  • Retail Services (VET)

  • English

  • Society & Culture

  • Life Skills courses

  • General study support, including literacy, writing, and research skills

University Students & Adult Learners

University Student Support

Tutoring support is available for undergraduate university students, particularly those studying:

  • Marketing

  • Communications

  • Media

  • Writing-related subjects

Support focuses on:

  • Academic writing

  • Research skills

  • Structuring and editing assignments

Adult Tutoring

Adult tutoring sessions provide practical, skills-based support for work, study, and everyday life.

1:1 Session online or local in person

  • 50 minutes — $85.00

Areas of support include:

  • Skills for work and life

  • Literacy — reading, writing, and communication

  • Digital literacy — using devices, word processing, basic Excel, email, and social media

Getting Started

All potential students are invited to book an obligation-free 15-minute call prior to booking. This is a general conversation to discuss learning goals and support needs.

If you choose to proceed, an initial assessment will be conducted during your first session to guide ongoing tutoring.

Payment can be made in full for multiple sessions or on a pay-as-you-go basis.
